All I want is to see what is available so when I head out I have a reasonable expectation that you have what I am looking for in the store.
Species invasions often create a "founder effect" that makes it hard to see effects of adaptation to the invaded habitat— genomic signals of a rapid post-bottleneck expansion look a lot like signals of adaptation. This study of European starlings teases those signals apart!

5. “But what are we supposed to do exactly?!” − Fight for digital sovereignty. Fight for a more independent financial system. Stop honoring US pharma patents. Form large coalitions to threaten economic sanctions. Limit travel, or increase the friction of it. Target the comfort of the billionaires who are bankrolling this. There is a long list of actions countries can take if •and only if• their populations create the political pressure for it.
Hey all,
today was a totally grey day. Very low hanging clouds. Actually a superb inversion -- if I would have had the time for a walk to the mountains. Yet other topics were on my schedule for today.
But hey, this is what photos are for: having memories about good time, right? I wrote more about it here: https://www.
PSA: Use the "accounturi" feature of Let's Encrypt CAA!
If you're hosting a safety/security-critical service, there's a way too unknown feature called "accounturi", that allows you to restrict TLS certificate issuance to a single Let's Encrypt account (and account private key).
You simply create a CAA record on your domain and put your LE account ID into it.
This means that attackers cannot issue TLS certificates and pull man-in-the-middle…

When using the iOS Create action there is no way to set the Reminder sound.
And it doesn’t use the default one either.
This means it’s impossible to create a Reminder with a sound alert using Shortcuts.
Is this a bug? Is there a workaround I could use?
Thank you

One of the most biting & memorable film monologues, inspired by the poetry of Antonio Machado, and delivered by "Jefe" near the end of Ridley Scott's The Counselor:

and it was going so well too: spent yesterday enjoying a not-gmail #Evolution access to my workspace, but now, as of this morning, with no changes other than sleep, Evolution is locked out:
“Failed to authenticate: Cannot create an item in a locked collection”.
ok #Debian13 #gnome wtf is a "locked collection" and by who's authority was it created with a lock on my own machine?
More to the point: will my Evolution email always be this fragile? ie is it pointless to even try?
More to the gripe: do software developers EVER post messages using terms that are actually DEFINED somewhere?
Learning about this flute was what put me on the path of considering how closely intertwined the creation of art is with our very humanity (and our closest evolutionary relatives like Neandertals). I have come to the conclusion that that the drive to create art is one of the defining characteristics of being human, and the drive to create also drives our technological advances.
