Abstract: Background: Ultrafast Time-of-Flight (TOF) information in Gate 10 simulations enables direct 3D PET reconstruction without scanner-specific modeling. Although such picosecond timing is not achievable in current detectors, simulated data allow exploration of idealized TOF regimes and rapid evaluation of prototype PET designs. Methods: The TOF-driven reconstruction assigns each coincidence to its annihilation position using sub-picosecond timestamps, producing voxelized 3D histograms with flexible voxel size and field-of-view selection. The approach operates directly on Gate-sorted coincidences, requires no corrections, and outputs MHD/DICOM images. Timestamp precision (~10^-13 s) enables localization on the millimeter scale. Results: Full 3D images of the simulated INSPIRE PET scanner are generated in under one second. The method resolves 0.25 mm features in point-source studies and 1.2 mm rods in the Derenzo phantom, reproduces ground-truth activity distributions in image-quality tests, and maintains quantitative stability across geometries. Performance reflects the theoretical benefits of ultrafast TOF rather than current detector capabilities. Significance: This fast, geometry-agnostic reconstruction tool supports early-stage PET prototyping, allowing rapid assessment of spatial resolution, sensitivity, and uniformity without implementing complex reconstruction software. It is broadly applicable to any simulated PET system with sorted coincidences and enables systematic exploration of ultrafast TOF performance in a controlled environment.

⛔️Are fuel-related flight cancellations happening at the last minute?
In most cases, no.
At least for now, fuel-related cuts are often being made days or weeks in advance.
Lufthansa Group, for example, said this week it is cutting 20,000 short-haul flights across its network through October.
That gives you more time to adjust plans than you’d typically get with weather-related disruptions, which tend to trigger last-minute cancellations.

Abstract: Time-of-flight magnetic resonance angiography (TOF-MRA) is widely used for structural vascular imaging, but extracting functional hemodynamics like blood velocity typically requires supplementary phase-contrast scans. This study proposes a novel, physics-informed computational framework to extract variable fluid velocity directly from standard TOF-MRA signal profiles. We analytically expand the Bloch equations into Bloch-McConnell flow equations, establishing a mathematical relationship between the spatial decay of longitudinal magnetization and fluid velocity. To validate this derivation and overcome the limitations of constant-velocity assumptions, a MATLAB simulation framework was developed to model fluid flow in two variable-geometry flowing tube cases i.e continuous tapering and focal stenosis -under synthetic scanner noise. A global inverse optimization approach utilizing Dual-Tikhonov regularization was deployed to stably invert the ill-posed transit time integral, actively penalizing high-frequency numerical ringing while preserving structural curve stiffness. The computational sim-ulations successfully recovered ground-truth point-wise velocities, accurately tracking gradual hemodynamic accelerations and sharp stenotic jets. This theoretical framework provides a robust mathematical proof-of-concept that quantitative, localized functional hemodynamic metrics can be extracted from standard structural MRA imaging, estab-lishing a foundation for advanced flow quantification without requiring additional scan time.
