ok yeah the Wonder Man series (2025) (8 episodes x 30m) is funny and really good, maybe because it's basically incestuous self-mockery of Hollywood. everything feels grounded by lived experience, even when it's doing broad caricature, kinda like what Bojack Horseman did. story is lightly connected to the rest of the MCU, works fine on its own

I’m reading Civilization Before Greece and Rome, by H.W.F. Saggs. The old saw about how if history doesn’t repeat itself, it certainly rhymes, comes out quite clearly.
