🥳 New Kitten Release
• Implement garbage collection timeout for unconnected pages
Added a timeout to KittenPage instances so that if they do not connect within 10 seconds, they are garbage collected.
This is to avoid a memory leak in the scenario where a person rapidly refreshes a class-based (state maintaining) Kitten page. In such a scenario, the almost instant page lifecycle does not allow enough time for the page’s default WebSocket to connect and disconnect from the …

There absolutely must be SOME way to detect WHY a #Java #Tomcat server would suddenly, after 6 years operation, spontaneously exit after 25-50 seconds of perfectly functional uptime and yet leave no #JVM hs_err crash file.
In catalina.sh debug, it logs the startup, sits idle, then the debugger reports 'disconnected'. This suggests it self-destructs, rather than an external kill - 9?

More on Alexa - When I'm build up a new computer (which I often do several times a day) I begin in the BIOS by setting the time to GMT.

Old Alexa would promptly give me an answer.

If a convoy came under attack from Iranian missiles or drones, the escorting warship would have only seconds to respond.
Similar escort and air defence efforts have already been seen in the Red Sea against Houthi attacks, so there is a working model.
The problem is that such operations consume major resources and are extremely costly if they are to be sustained for every transit.
The danger would not come only from the air or the shore.
Iran could also rely on swarms…

Historic Glacial Confluence
This is the site of confluence of the former glaciers Vernagtferner and Hintereisferner, two of the most (and longest) studied glaciers in the world. It is the site (at ~2200m) where several times over the past thousand years the ice of the Vernagtferner would pile up to form a massive dam, 150-200m tall, which caused a semi-permanent ice lake to form in the Rofen/Hintereis valley above (the one visible from ~7 seconds). Many times this lake would get up to …

As it is, keytool says there is nothing wrong with my keystore or its password, and watching the process launch I see after the init, it sits, idle, a few seconds later its Time value in top only increments the millisecs, and within a minute, it is gone, voom, not a trace in any logs as to why.
