I haven’t tuned into CBS since its morning news promoted that interview (and Weiss) last week. This latest announcement validates my decision.

These AWS & Cloudflare mega-outages are honestly embarrassing as an industry. Eugh. What are we doing???
We have so many tools & processes for ensuring reliability, but somehow two vendors can each single-handledly wipe everything out anytime.
Update: Phanpy is NOT supporting the official Mastodon quoted posts at the moment. They are still using their own implementation, means quotes are only shown in Phanpy and for example when using Moshidon as a client.
[When you click the little rocket under a toot a dialog pops up, asking whether you will "boost" or "quote" the toot. In this toot I have chosen "quote"]
(and I don't know if this will work 😄)
a feature that i wish was built into mastodon from the start & hope it eventually comes to heads.social. feel like being able to communicate only with people on your local server is one of the missing pieces in actually making local servers work. (i'd certainly be more apt to live-toot live shows/streams if i knew the readers were specifically the heads server.)

It sounds like #Oracle took on a whole bunch of debt to build data centers for #OpenAI. It makes sense that the company's value would dip based on that but $15bn more than the full contract value is significant.

Not-really-hot take:
Thinking `<button role="link">` is ever acceptable in place of `<a href>` is dogmatic transubstantiation belief nonsense.
Does not…
• fire on Space;
• show URL in status bar;
• have right-click options;
• etc.
It is never meat. Er, I mean, a link.
Many digital accessibility practitioners are used to searching for stuff about NVDA and getting results for Nvidia instead, but today I see Nvidia’s earnings tending and I glance at it and think, “Whoah, when did NV Access get such a big donation?”

My favorite thing about infinite scroll is when your connection hiccups and nothing else will load so you have to reload the entire page and scroll a dozen times just to get to where you were so you can start the fuck over and hope your connection doesn’t hiccup again.

Today I had this brilliant idea for a domain name. I'm surprised that no one else has thought of it yet and that the domain was still available: cloudflare.com #joking
Wow! I just received a report from another mastodon instance for violating that instance's rule against "Profiting/benefiting from the destruction of the planet and society." That's a little extreme. ![]()

Promoting the book meant I had to log into LinkedIn.
So now’s a good time to note that I log in rarely and I only connect with folks I’ve met IRL and / or worked with directly.
It seems unfair to connect with anybody without actually knowing them (or logging in but monthly).
But I also don’t use LinkedIn.

I'm trying out a new health app to try to replace Fitbit. The Fitbit app doesn't really do anything for me and costs $100 per year. I can get my smart scale and my blood pressure cuff to pipe data into the new app. I also bought a smart ring to pump data into it. I like this, so far.
