“Stand up if you know someone who’s been affected by community violence,”
Dr. Khalid Griffin prompted the group of Fort Wayne high schoolers.
Almost all 60 teenagers who had been seated in the center of the downtown church stood up.
The teens, a predominantly Black group of students, were selected as part of a youth program that does violence prevention work with local high schools.
As area business leaders, city officials, judges, and police officers watched and too…
“I’m so sorry—I honestly thought you already knew,” said Mayor Wilson. “If I had known you had no idea the city that elected me mayor hates bad coffee, union-busting, people who sell their basketball team to Oklahoma City, replaces workers with AI, and resists fair taxation at every turn, I wouldn’t have been as publicly flippant about it. ...t and I’m sorry.”

Voting is tomorrow. Friday the 22nd of May. I'm asking for your no. 1 vote and to transfer Left.
While this is a By-election so it won't affect the current govt immediately it will be an opportunity to build for the next election, which will hopefully be sooner than later.
We feel a vote for People Before Profit is the strongest message for a Left government as we're the only party who has committed to never going into coalition with Fine Gael or Fianna Fšil.

"The SFMTA announced last month that it would significantly reduce the 1.1 miles of [Ocean Ave] red [transit-only] lanes to a handful of blocks"
Okay, hold it right there. That's a cut-and-dried violation of our city charter's Transit First policy, repeatedly reaffirmed by voters. This should not be a debate because we already had the debate. The "don't prioritize transit" side lost. Transit supporters need to sue the city.
TV news going with "who is this former minister and former mayor of a major city who we know next to nothing about?"

So why, all the sudden, would it be really high in nutrients?
My guess is they refilled it with city water.

It works beautifully for this,
but orthophosphate is also a bioavailable form of phosphate,

The Lurie administration and its allies are disbanding San Francisco's Bicycle Advisory Committee. I plan to go to its final meeting tonight at 6:30, city hall room 416.
FYI, Sherrill, Sauter, Mahmood, Dorsey, Wong, and Mandelman voted to get rid of it. May they all lose their next elections and be replaced by better candidates who'll restore the BAC.

Cancelable opinion in urbanist circles: San Francisco actually should try to build housing in a way that minimizes unnecessary shadow. I'm not saying it's more important than people having an affordable place to live, or that it should've been taken to the extremes it was in the 80s and 90s... but it is the middle of June and it's nice in the sun and cold in the shade.

What blocked this bus and all this traffic for a whole light cycle? I peer around the corner of the Panchitas van and see, of course, a double-parked Waymo.
I love to sabotage anonymous surveys by providing my full name in the answers to all the questions. It totally ruins the survey. And the best part is that since it's anonymous, they have no idea I'm the one who did it.
This is the kind of unity we need to see among left-of-center candidates—everyone not on the billionaires' team. Like Saikat, I'll support Connie in the general election. I won't hide my disagreements with her, but fortunately most of them are much less relevant to federal office.
