glad people are advocating for more tree planting opportunities in sf! if you email, consider asking them for a permit process to plant trees in bulbouts in the parking lane too. this allows for larger tree beds, healthier trees and built in traffic calming and is common in berkeley & santa cruz but currently not permitted in sf!

Hey all, there are some photos from a hike in the #schwarzwald
Actually we thought that it would just take us less than an hour - but it wasn't simply a straight walk :-D
It was raining from time to time - which was indeed pretty cool. A) there was noone around except us and B) the colors were often just insane. Fully saturated green, the brown from the wood - and sometimes…

Assembled a new potting table for Collette. Turned out nicely.
Collette has always had a passion for gardening, and has dramatically increased her gardening efforts post retirement. She’s been propagating roses this summer. Her first round she had about a 3% success rate. She’s learned and steadily improved the process. Latest batch - 40%. She has become a 10x gardener.
I’ve become a 10x furniture assembler.

Origin of the double-peaked narrow emission-lines in the optical spectra of X-shaped Radio Galaxies
We investigate the X-shaped radio galaxies (XRGs) with optical double-peaked narrow emission (DPNEL) as potential hosts of dual or binary supermassive black holes (SMBHs). Using a sample of 187 XRGs selected from SDSS and DESI optical spectroscopic surveys, we check the AGN nature of both emission components using the BPT diagnostics of multiple emission lines, namely {[O III]$λλ$4959,5007}, H$α$, {[N II]$λλ$6548,6584}, {[S II]$λλ$6716,6731}, and H$β$, and mid-infrared colors. art could create an awareness that allowed one to see into and communicate the essence of experience.
Throughout his life he searched for the state of being one with the object of his poems,
something he believed a poet needed to reach in order to write truthfully.
This life-long search brought Basho to wandering.
He thought that travelling would lead to a state of karumi (lightness), ess…

Just wanted to share this photo with you :
THIS was the narrowest passage ahead. It's just this and around the corner, after this it widens up again. And I can promise: it does not just look narrow - it really IS.
I admit that I thought "ohkay, I did NOT expect that and I hope it won't get worse".
