Man I hate the new language for a task one doesn't want to do — "aversive”.
Primary reason is that it externalizes the problem. It's fixed mindset framing, that something _else_ has to change to make the situation better, that it's the task's fault for being aversive, instead of our own for not working on the aversion to the needed task.
We have a bad habit lately of attributing relational traits to the party in a relationship, rather than to the relationship itself and it weakens our thinking about things. Noticing this pattern really changes how you think, because you can start attributing things better and noticing the contexts — and contexts are often things that can be changed!

So I've started going through photos from 2015/2016 to add location tags to them. Conclusions so far:
1. Damn, these photos have low resolution. I mean, 2560 x 1440? That's smaller than my screen right now!
2. So many of them are really bad, like blurred, or really non-level, or with fingers.
3. I seemed to enjoy panoramas. Very low resolution panoramas, I should add.
4. I hate apps for defaulting not to store location data. Before I noticed it, I made so many photos I can't figure out.
5. That said, I still can recognize a lot of places by seemingly random scenery elements.
6. In many cases, "what? *that* was 10 years ago?!"

Q2 looks so much healthier at 3.0%, or you would think so. Pantheon Macroeconomics sums up the first half of 2025 with some more sobriety: AI alone contributed about half a percentage point of GDP. Without it, the U.S. would be bumbling along at 1% growth. Still better than minus, but thin grass all the same.
One more stat for the better view: since 2019, investment in AI-sensitive sectors is up 53%, while everywhere else is basically flat – 0.3%.
