I wonder if the power of AI will ever be great enough that we can replace the really ugly icons of macOS 26 with icons that don’t hurt the eyes and are square. Honestly, Singularity level stuff there.

I’ve been hesitant to share this since the post is strictly visuals sans alt text, but I think the examples it shows are worth it for those who are designing GUIs.

Just updated #GrapheneOS to #Android16 #QPR1, not sure how I feel about the new changes yet. Might grow on me though. How about you?

Folks using #PhanpySocialDev , there are 2 new features that need a bit of testing:
1. QR code for profiles and shortcuts settings - includes scanner (camera) too
2. Import/export accounts - the export *excludes* access tokens, so need to login again after import

I'm looking at a bunch of open clipart icons and some of them have straightforward licenses like CC or public domain.
But others are using more software-oriented licenses like GPL or LGPL. I'm... not entirely sure how that is supposed to work.
If I load a GPL'd icon PNG into my application is that "dynamic linking" in a way that would require my entire application to be GPL? There's no code involved, no symbol manipulation, and the icon isn't compile…

PLEASE DO NOT ANIMATE USER INTERFACE ELEMENTS FOR NO REASON.
Do not animate icons, change positions of buttons, do "fun liquid glass animations"; definitely under no circumstances move in or fade in whole blocks of text (unless your design goal is that you want people looking at your website to become nauseous).
Only use animation when it's helpful to the user—for example, when they need to pay extra attention to something because there's a risk of data loss or to pass the time while showing that something is going on when there's a process which takes a bit longer.
