Thousands of nurses are set to walk off the job at several of New York City’s largest hospitals on Monday,
staging a strike amid an intense flu season.

I love the sentiment, but this is actually exactly what law enforcement has always been. It's always been political, always racist, always arbitrary, always genocidal.
ICE is just what happens when they think they can get away with it. The other abuses require a lot more investigation. Abolishing ICE is a good first step.
For all folks who have just now become enraged with the brutality of law enforcement agencies like ICE: I hope we can walk together, and learn from each other, until our ways part... But I do hope you'll walk a little farther with me after we achieve our shared goals.

That was different for the work commute.
First time in months buses arrived and on time! bus departed near the home stop @06:20. arrived at work @06:40. Ten minute walk to where I work, so 06:50. For months it was 07:15 to 07:30.
I am hoping that the commute home will go well. normally I leave around 15:00 and lucky to get home by 16:25. If they are on time and no cancellation it should be around 15:40.

Between the Netanyahu protests, the Peace Walk, and the nice weather, it was carmageddon downtown and even into parts of Arlington. I think DC used to handle this so much better, but I don’t think MPD does traffic control anymore? The spillover to pedestrians and buses was predictable.
Took a couple of rest days b/c I could feel my hamstring & feared possible injury. After a consideration of time spent in each HR zone over previous runs, it was clear that I was overdoing the pace, even with 4/1 min run/walk intervals. I ~could~ do that pace, but I ~should~ dial it back a bit & build fitness. Anaerobic all the time wasn’t helping.
Cold tonight, just below freezing and 25 mph (40 kph) winds gusting to 50 mph (80.5 kph).

Saw a crested caracara on our walk this morning. Thought at first an eagle but the black on the top of the head is wrong. Fairly large bird is stayed in the tree for a bit then flew off. First I have seen one near the coast. Usually I see then towards the center of the state. The other side of Arcadia has quite a few of them.
If I was a foreign head of state, I wouldn't walk into a potential trap like that...

Something I do not think the fashy Trump-licking crowd understands is how •deeply• we here in Minneapolis and environs felt everything that’s happened.
The ICE invasion might have been a lot of things for the folks behind it: a strategic offensive, a gambit, a bender, a job, a joy ride. But I suspect that across all those cases, it was something they feel like they can walk away from whenever they decide to be done with it.
Not so for us neighbors. They have no idea how angry we are. They have no idea how long we’re going to stay angry. If you were a part of the ICE invasion, be warned: people will be out hunting for your head as long as you walk free on this earth.
Went for a 10k walk this morning. 1:53! Gotta get into shape for my next two weeks walking around Europe.

Irked because my watch showed 7.5 km (not that I was looking at it desperately or anything…) 😉
An afternoon meeting prevented my running in daylight on the greenway, so I headed over to one of the high schools to use their track. (My favorite track at the middle school is still all torn apart for some sort of culvert work. 😤)
One end is all pine trees and the fragrant smell each lap was lovely.
4/1 minute run/walk intervals for 7.46 km in 57:43, average pace of 7:44/km.

ICE has been harassing residents and lawful observers unusually aggressively yesterday and today. They walk up to random cars with window-smashing tools in hand and say threatening things. They slow-drive by people’s houses in a “we know where you live” kind of way. They detain people — completely illegally, completely unconstitutionally, of course — but that will mater later and their big photo op matters •now•.

decided that I want to be a bit lazy today.
We did a 3h walk yesterday.
I took over 100 photos. Most of them are not share-worthy. But by reviewing with moderate self-critique, I already learned a lot again about what I want to improve, what I should take more care of, etc.
Afterall it was more than successfull.
