The Greenland sea cables are probably being closely monitored, but redundancy seems minimal likely limited to OneWeb satellite connectivity and some VSAT links.
Looking at the routing side, AS8818 announces just two /19s and one /22 (and two /32s in IPv6) with a single upstream provider, Level 3 Inc. This suggests that Layer 3 redundancy is even more constrained.
I would have expected at least one EU-based provider as an additional upstream...

Heute kurz vor Ladenschluss der Apotheke doch noch #rausgeschafft und dabei einen wunderschönen rosa-orangenen #Sonnenuntergang zu sehen bekommen. 15 Minuten später auf Rückweg war er schon wieder weg.
Und da ich eh schon die Veloklamotten anhatte, habe ich auch grade noch mit dem G-Li…

Orange-rosaner Sonnenuntergang mit darüber gräulichen Wolken vor noch blauem Himmel. Links und rechts ragen laublose Äste als Silhouetten ins Bild, an der Unterkante des Bildes sind Hausdächer zu sehen.

There are finally real USB3 (not Thunderbolt, not USB4 PCIe Tunneling) 10GbE NICs!
RTL8159 chipset-based, it uses the generic cdc_ncm driver on Linux.
Also seems to work on macOS and iOS.
TCP throughput between GPD Pocket 4 and MacBook Pro M1 seems a bit low at ~6.2 GBit/s, but that might also be due to the connected devices (both sides are using the same adapter).
I don't have another 10GBit/s device here right now, sorry.

Last night my wife was trying out Tunic on Switch 2, which unfortunately has untranslsted game menus, dialog boxes and such. Luckily, there's a fully translated version of the manual online. I don't post my runs very often, but this one was pretty nice. 20k on the Vliehors, the largest sand plain in Europe. I was a little late, so I spent most of the time running in the sunset.
Met some seals on the way.

Did you know it's possible for two lines to appear to diverge in a 2D perspective view, but actually converge in 3D? Kind of the opposite of parallel lines in 3D converging in 2D.
I discovered this while trying to implement a clipping algorithm. At first I didn't believe it was possible, it felt so foreign to everyday experience. It actually happens whenever two lines converge behind the center of projection, but we rarely see that IRL.

Vandaag twee dubbele erspressi. Ze werden de afgelopen weken staads beter, maar in meen nu het maximum te hebben bereikt. Hoogstens nog met betere koffie, vers gebrande bonen en wat dies meer zij. Maar totdat mijn huidige bonen op zijn ga ik daar niet mee experimenteren, en misschien we nooit.

Was für ein schönes Konzert von Daniel Kahn mit Jake Shulman-Ment & Christian Dawid gestern zum Auftakt des Klezmore-Festivals in Wien; bei seiner Interpretation von Georg Kreislers "Ich fühl mich nicht zu Hause / Nit Heymisch" stand auch Isabel Frey auf der Bühne. Einen weiteren Song widmete er Nora Guthrie, die er zufällig davor beim Hauptbahnhof getroffen hatte, und: Zohran Mamdani.

Heute Abend vom Büro zur Weihnachtsfeier mit den Arbeitskollegen geradelt. Es hatte #Nebel und die Sicht war für brillentragende Radfahrer noch schlechter als eh schon.
Dennoch haben die 18.7km #Radfahren heute Spaß gemacht. Und sie haben dafür gesorgt, dass ich jetzt schon, also am 9. Dezember, meh…

I have seen a hot Marlboro smoker on YouTube with the screen name SmkrCGN for quite a few years. I have been watching his vids while smoking and stroking as sort of soft porn (when he smokes or smoke-swaps with one of his buddies, you can imagine some "under the table" action through their hand movements.)

BikerBeef (BB, left) was just shy of 6' tall, weight proportionate to height, five years older than BHD, brown eyes, full beard, fuzzy chest, warm smile, cute butt.
