Well, this seems stupid - New Jersey is forcing the removal of many working NACS charging centers and replacing them with CCS charging.
That's already stupid. But it moves from stupid to destructive in that it NJ wants to expand the moribund CCS charge system while automobile makers are shifting away from CCS to NACS.
Perhaps we ought to remember that New Jersey is a major oil refining/gasoline producing state and thus there are political forces in NJ who abhor EVs.

I already struggle to raise enough money to keep the very talented young scientists I have working with me (from many different countries already), finding funding for more will be difficult, and why should US scientists essentially queue jump just because of their nationality ? I know that sounds harsh, I have very good US colleagues, but I have to be fair to all, regardless of where they come from. we’ve been home for about six weeks and are getting the travel itch again so we’re looking at apartments in paris for a month or so next spring, maybe also finally get to puglia for a week or two, also need to spend a few weeks in stockholm with the grandkids and want to tuck a visit to helsinki (on the baltic queen!) into that, so … a couple months? i’m not sure i want to be away that long 🤔.

Not upgrading all the SQS code using boto.sqs.Message to boto3 has finally bitten me on the ass as boto just doesn't work on Python 3.12 which is what I'm moving to.
And I'm moving it because 3.7 has become the 2.7 of Python 3. Whilst I originally targeted 3.9 that is slipping away too.
There is a lot of SQS going on, not just pipelining but logging. The logging is kind of Schroedinger logging as I don't bother with it unless I need to.
