Neil Young - "After The Gold Rush" (1970)
Somehow I went all these years without acquiring this record, until today. Apparently this lp was inspired by a Dean Stockwell script for a movie that never got produced.
#NowPlaying #NeilYoung

Album cover features a black and white photo of Neil Young wearing a back pack that's in the shape of a little old lady.
Neil's handwritten lyrics to After The Gold Rush:

Well, I dreamed I saw the knights in armor coming
Sayin' something about a queen
There were peasants singin' and drummers drumming
And the archer split the tree
There was a fanfare blowin' to the sun
That was floating on the breeze
Look at mother nature on the run in the nineteen seventies

Here's a wild stat: We could power every car and truck as electric vehicles just by putting solar panels on land we currently use for biofuels.
Solar is vastly more efficient than biofuels for energy generation. The real question is how we use our land—solar for transport, biofuels for aviation, or letting some return to nature.

#TIL about Benford's law where for some data sets of numbers, the first digit is usually 1 and rarely 9 (with descending probability in between). It's especially common in data sets following the power law (which is common in nature).
Seems a useful consideration when generating random numbers shown directly to players (like a multiple choice) -- even if they're unfamiliar, …

Two distribution curves with descriptions.

Left: A broad probability distribution of the log of a variable, shown on a log scale. Benford's law can be seen in the larger area covered by red (first digit one) compared to blue (first digit 8) shading.

Right: A narrow probability distribution of the log of a variable, shown on a log scale. Benford's law is not followed, because the narrow distribution does not meet the criteria for Benford's law.

The ephemeral nature of digital music and "albums" is a bit annoying. You can listen to an album today that has more or fewer songs than it had two days ago.
Also, artists can republish the same song on the same album, effectively replacing the original over time. Next thing you know, your folk album is a dubstep nightmare (hyperbole).
