Today I rode the ebike to Capital Drive which is 5 miles towards work... It looks like it would be 3 miles from there to get to work, so 8 miles total, which is 2 more than I estimated.
But on the ebike it was a breeze. I tried to go pretty fast, and the route I took was a perfect biking route. The first 6.5 miles should be easy, though the last 1.5 might be a bit treacherous.

We prove the first instance of a conjecture by Kontsevich-Soibelman that the non-archimedean period map recovers the analytic periods in the case of log Calabi-Yau surfaces.
