Watched Solar Opposites, a cartoon started by Justin Roiland like Rick and Morty with lots in common.
Including Roiland being kicked out after a couple of seasons for his crimes, and being replaced. This time not with an impersonator but just a new more british actor. Stayed pretty much in vibe with his style though.
Four aliens stuck on earth, plus the adventures of the tiny people that one of the aliens shrunk to keep in his wall like an ant farm. And the Silver Cops.
Pretty good fun. Watched the five seasons on Netflix in a couple of weeks. Apparently there's another if I search or wait.
Interesting how the machine can just keep churning it out even when the lead folks disappear. That's the ideal I suppose. Create the show then let it run on without you.

There’s this place we walk by pretty regularly that’s semi-abandoned. The owner replaces parts when they fall off and there are lights at night, but the front and back have been left to return to nature. This chunk of land is worth ~$2.5M Canadian, so an odd situation. I was watching a YouTube video this morning where somebody was talking about a coffee app where you (the user) search for roasters in your area that you like and it it shows you nearby coffee shops that use that roaster. You can then get a list of coffee's that you can buy from that coffee shop. It also has a journaling aspect to help you figure out what your favorites are. I kind of liked that idea.

Watching Will Smith’s new show on NatGeo, “Pole To Pole.” It’s quite good, if you like this sort of thing, but what is really amazing me is the camera work. A lot is drone work, but I don’t think there’s a drone that can hold station in hurricane force winds 300 feet up an icewall that almost beat Smith. That was some dude with only one ice pick in the wall because the other hand held a camera. Insane.

My morning so far has been spent disassembling the tumble dryer and vacuuming everything in sight. A suspicious burning smell led to us pulling the big red lever earlier!

I'm in the middle of watching the new Knives Out on Netflix. I'm liking the humour so far! At one point they even did a noticeable animated film grade to underscore the mood change of a dialogue scene. I'm Jason Proctor, a reporter with CBC Vancouver who looked into a series of lawsuits facing the owners of Universal Ostrich Farms Inc.
Last month, I spoke with three creditors who are watching today's ruling with great interest — and some skin in the game.
B.C. Supreme Court judges have ordered the farm's owners to repay debts worth more than $250,000 but, up until now, the creditors have been unable to collect. Normally in this kind of situation, a creditor would move to seize the business assets — but because in this case those assets are ostriches caught up in a legal battle, that's been challenging, to say the least.
All three creditors have tried to garnish the CFIA to intercept any money the agency might pay out as compensation for killing the birds (potentially up to $3,000 a bird, the CFIA says) but it remains to be seen how that will work. The creditors, however, told me they are anxious to recoup their losses.”

Les Trois Mousquetaires : D'Artagnan (2023) felt so right to watch after watching the Toy Story that The Three Musketeers (2011) basically is. It has great English subtitles. I loved the multilingual scene between Milady and the Duke. It's been very long since I've read the book (in Bulgarian). I wonder if it sounds so gritty in French (or in English) as the film is?

Finally get to spend some time lounging in the corner of the bed watching Who Culture podcast on the closet monitor in the tardis bedroom.
The mattress did expand another cm or so during the time away over xmas. It's now been much more than the recommended 72 hours before I should use the bed.
So I used the bed for drinking a glass of wine, watching Who Culture, and mucking about on the tablet screen.

Watching a video of an ICE agent executing someone in the street, with the knowledge that they'll probably end up on the chat show circuit.

The vibe is not even the sort of “excessive show of force” vibe you get when militarized law enforcement goes off the rails and starts rioting. (I live in Minneapolis. I’m quite familiar with what •that• looks like.)
This is more like…hundreds of high school gym bullies get all hopped up on Red Bull and decided to take daddy’s SUV on a joy ride to randomly kidnap the first brown person they can corner…but only if nobody’s watching.
