A few impressions from the Weihnachtsmarkt #Klagenfurt in #Carinthia we could visit today using the brand new train connection from #Graz 🤩

There’s this place we walk by pretty regularly that’s semi-abandoned. The owner replaces parts when they fall off and there are lights at night, but the front and back have been left to return to nature. This chunk of land is worth ~$2.5M Canadian, so an odd situation. Anyhow, I enjoy watching the progress of the informal small-scale rewilding.

Every once in a while I'm reminded I should explore my own Twin Cities more. Last week I ended up at a cute watch repair place and finally tried Ed's Lebanese Deli (it's inside a Super USA gas station). I know, I know. Just trust me. After a big family breakfast the #ChristmasTree got trimmed, which is holiday-speak for hanging stuff on it. Besides a string of white LED lights and traditional red and gold ribbon, it is a mixture of unique balls, personal decorations and hand made ornaments. Each of our Christmas stockings will usually have a new ornament, almost always handmade, so after 47 years of marriage we have a large storage container full of tree decorations that got bumped from regular rotation.

Bedroom is done! Well. Builders are finished anyway. I still have to buy a bed and stuff to put in it, and since I've spent all my money that'll have to wait until payday. And then it's nearly xmas so probably better to wait until January.
There's a clasp missing to hold the window shutters shut. The one we had was too big. Should be able to screw one in myself tomorrow.
Doing all the lights and stuff will takes months and months probably.
But I can go back to sleeping in late instead of getting up to let the builders in every day.

Mirrors stuck onto the doors. Quite a lot of mirror. Makes the room feel bigger.
All the trim and handles are on now. Just one hole for cables missing. Catches need to be put on the blind-doors. Adjusting the doors so they open and close smoothly. Couple of lights to be attached. Painting and decorating touch-up.
Actually do believe they'll finish tomorrow.

Really surreal driving experience on the Frankfurter Allee today. Of course there was a lot of construction and rerouting, single lanes, delivery drivers blocking one etc. But the weirdest thing was the wandering traffic lights. Some workers where pushing the large temporary traffic lights around. It felt a bit like the bending cities in the movie "Inception"
