If I'm in Australia, my hosting is in Australia, and 90% of my human traffic comes from Oceania, could I just select the Oceania zone CDN or should I use multizones because of all the bloody international bots (which I'm in the process of blocking with Wordfence). This is a site running at a loss (passion project) so there's not a lot of money to throw at the problem.

She's done excellent work in her space under the stairs. nearly a full year of uptime and chugging away doing Mastodon, Pixelfed (until just now), weewx Weather server, homebridge, streaming relay point, and general web server.
My next trick will be to see if I can move mastodon from using local storage for media to using cloud storage. I'm at about 70% usage now, so it's time.

Was removing some snails from the greenhouse. Opened skylight to fling them over the fence (into an uncultivated garden) and the window collapsed on my head! No injury as I was wearing a cap and the glass didn't break. Mortice joint had rotted through. Greenhouse was quite old when we arrived 40 years ago and I keep replacing bits.
Luckily I'd kept a partially rotten roof spar so was able to cut it down, using the sound part and joint it to fit.

If you use Duplicati on your Linux server via Docker to perform backups to an external USB drive, this must be mounted before the container starts up. Otherwise, Duplicati will throw an error ("missing files") when it tries to perform the backup because it cannot verify the files on the external drive, even though it tells you that it can detect that external drive.

We're all really used to an FBI that is incredibly evil, but generally pretty competent. They have no problem using child sex offenders to infiltrate groups of clowns. They have no problem trying to convince civil rights leaders to commit suicide. They have no problem with sowing confusion within leftists groups and trying to get them to kill each other. They've always been radically anti-left, but they've also always been competent.
Fabricating evidence in a really obvious way would always have been off the table because they wouldn't be willing to throw a case. But those competent people have been pushed out of the FBI. It's now Kash Patel's clown show. It serves the whims of the regime above all else. It will sacrifice decades of hard built trust for a quick win, because no one involved is competent enough to understand the consequences of such actions.
In the past, they may have used torture to elicit a confession. They may have entrapped people. They could have deleted exonerating evidence, but they would probably not have just completely manufactured obviously fake evidence just to forward the regime's narrative. I don't think that we've seen anything like this, at the very least in our lifetimes.
We have to foster a new level of skepticism, far beyond what we have been used to... and this is especially true of Liberals, who still don't understand the level of corruption and incompetence in local law enforcement today.

As people who read my posts know, I am of the belief that the US is now on a runaway train racing downhill towards deadmans' curve, with no brakes and mad engineer. and with no brakeman willing to throw the derail switch to stop the train.
And we are all riding on that train.
So catastrophe is out there sometime soon - maybe this year, maybe next, maybe the year after. But it is coming.
Thus we will face "the day after".
