(Made the most of the last warm weather yesterday afternoon to hike/climb along this beautiful long ridge with many cliffs, roped sections, some cute chamois and hardly any people — temporarily felt like late August, yet in two days supposedly snow starting...)

A narrow path along a very narrow ridge of light gray rocks, steep slopes dropping off on either side. The south-facing right side is mostly forested, illuminated by the warm afternoon sun. Blue sky with some streaky clouds.
Steep slopes with yellow brown dried grasses leading down into the valley between some cliffs of light gray rocks and forest. Everything bathed in warm golden light. I rode the acoustic Trek today, over in the cemetery. It was warm at 65°F but super windy! 17mph wind with gusts up to 22mph made it a challenge… got just over 5 miles before calling it quits.

HELP!
I bought a couple of really nice warm woollen sweaters at the 2nd hand shop, washed them, hung them outside, but there's this damn over-perfumed fabric softener smell which did not wash out.
Anyone one have a secret sauce for removing that stuff? (I knew it could cling forever to synthetics, but wool?) I wash wool in cold water.

I did a lot of stretching and used the massage gun this morning to deal with the sciatica and felt pretty much fine when it was time to leave for work, so I biked in.
A bit cold, but no wind, so that's good. I keep a log of temperature and wind and what I wore for my rides to work so I can check back if I was too cold/too warm, etc.
I'll see my PT tomorrow for the sciatica so no biking into work.

In other news, today was my first day learning to use a microINR device, intended to monitor my blood anticoagulation levels. The INR, or International Normalized Ratio, is a measure of how long it takes your blood to clot.

So basically this is what I do:

1. Wash my hands, make sure they’re warm and dry.
2. Take a chip (or test strip) and insert it into the device.
3. The device powers on and I wait until it is ready (it has to heat up to a certain temperature)

We came up this path when I turned around and saw the sun beams through the canopy. At first I was really stunned to be honest as I hardly *ever* see such scenes!
Strangely I took ways less photos than might have been appropriate, but those two I found worth sharing.

Day 15 (belated): Darcie Little Badger
An Indigenous author of YA fiction, Little Badger writes warm characters with deep hearts, and of course offers a fantasy world that feels refreshingly different to anyone steeped mainly in fantasy of the Tolkien lineage. Would be nice if works like hers weren't rare and didn't seem exotic, but that's not the world we live in.

We present JWST/MIRI observations of the debris disk surrounding the nearby, solar analog Epsilon Eridani obtained as part of the Archetypal Debris Disk GTO program. Multi-wavelength images from 15, 18, 21, and 25.5 $μm$ show a smooth dust distribution with no evidence of sculpting by massive planets outside of 5 au.
