We keep repeating the same mistake: allowing corporations into the education system. Remember how Microsoft effectively pushed the entire educational world toward its products? This time, however, it’s not only about software, it’s about textbooks, content, and everything around them.

Okay, I'll give you that: LLMs aren't the root of the problem.
Capitalism is. The idea of infinite growth. The idea that people can't just live, they must with 40 hours a week to justify their existence, and they must be purchasing something all the time. Companies must keep selling new stuff. All the resources must be tapped into and exploited.
And companies are making software. They must keep selling new features and pointless complete redesigns nobody wanted. The code must keep being churned over and over again. Programmers must justify their existence by churning out absurd amounts of meaningless code. The companies must exploit them.
Then, companies are entering the #OpenSource "market". They are acquiring and enshittifying. They are hiring and exploiting. And then so many volunteers just jump on the bandwagon and keep cosplaying them. And they too churn out useless code, "sell" pointless complete makeovers, "profit" off their users (even if they actually aren't making any real profit).
And then come LLMs, perfect tools for the job. Perfect tools for exploitation, for churning out useless code, for creating addiction, and for turning everyone into mindless corpospeak bullshit machines.

So organisations/companies realize that the topmodels are way too expensive for 80-90% of the things they want to use AI for. So they will move to cheaper models/versions, opensource models, on premis etc. At the same time OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI need more revenue to cover their outrageous costs/investments. How will they solve this? Just with big defense/government contracts?

We (with @…) have been experimenting in Vulnerability-Lookup with the concept of Local Exploit Hazard, based on the recent research paper “Modeling Local Exploit Hazard — A Bayesian Framework for Quantifying Exploit Risk and Operational Efficiency” by Stephen Shaffer and Laura Cristiana Voicu.
The idea addresses an important question in vulnerability management:
Not simply “How dangerous is this vulnerability globally?” but “How much exploitation risk does this vulnerability represent in my environment?”
Instead of introducing yet another static vulnerability score, the model starts from exploit likelihood such as EPSS and combines it with local security controls, CVSS attack vectors, vulnerability age and KEV policy to estimate an exploitation hazard.
We implemented an experimental version in Vulnerability-Lookup and connected it directly to operational workflows.

The Radio Image Framing Protocol (RIFP) 1.0 is an experimental, extensible standard for sending images over low-rate radio links.
The default rifp-cpfsk-4800 profile uses binary continuous-phase FSK and can be deployed around 433.92 MHz where local regulation permits it. RIFP itself is not tied to 433 MHz or to FSK and can be used in any frequency bands.
I'm still exploring various low-cost options for a device that can receive and display images on an e-ink screen in emergency areas or similar environments.
