If the city was serious about improving the transit system then every councillor, the mayor and senior management at OC will surrender their driver license and use the system exclusively. They take the bus or LRT everywhere. No motorcycle, no taxi, no UBER, no staff driving them, no friends/family driving them. THEY RELY ONLY ON THE TRANSIT SYSTEM. Wow, loving our greenhouse - already have the first tomatoes turning red! Only a couple weeks into summer (not even proper summer, 22 Dec in Aotearoa, yet) Crazy! This is months before we've ever had ripening fruit pre-greenhouse.

There's an intersection in Cambridge on my usual commute that was substantially reworked to be more bicycle friendly, but they went and screwed up the light timing so that almost everyone on a bike hits at least one red light if not two. This also gives people the time incentive to do a non-standard thing to skip one light phase.
The video shows what is necessary to get a green and a yellow -- 20mph on an e-bike.

It's in the parking structure, so it's not exactly out in public... maybe that's a good thing?
But also, I can't ride my bike in the parking structure.

Binary partitioning with k-d trees is silly amazing. And with OSM data in radians and pretending the planet is a perfect sphere, scikit-learn's BallTree works wonderfully for quickly finding things nearby some reference point.
Like how far away the nearest bicycle_parking is for every building in a city.

Downtown Fake London (Ontario) is weird. Some of it is exactly the automobile-infested hell that @… routinely describes. But there's still quite a few people out here walking and biking in spite of the inhospitable conditions.
There's some recently-built protected cycle tracks that make me wish I could bring a bicycle here on Via and toot around for an afternoon of coffee shops. The network is super not-complete though. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️
