Who can help me find out who owns the publication “Canada Minute”? I subscribed to this emailed newsletter, but now I would like to know who owns it, and I cannot find out. They also publish BC, Alberta, SK, and Manitoba Minute.

Opened up an SVG file in Emacs and it surprised me by presenting the graphic and there was a little message “Type C-c C-c to switch between text and graphic forms.” What I actually wanted to do is change one color in the graphic and was able to iterate and preview without ever leaving Emacs. Smiling.

It's the stuff strange dreams are made of! Like Fellini 8½. Whereever it is. Dancing in the streets permitted, presumably. No streetcars will be harmed.

I started the morning with the objective of putting the plants we brought from our old house into our new yard. But I quickly realized all the tools I needed were sprinkled throughout my disorganized garage. So I spent 3 hours ripping out old cabinets left by the previous owners to make some space and then hunting through our piles of stuff to find the garden tools. Got most of it organized, so at least I can actually put my hands on stuff. A small step forward.

Just got around to reading Weir’s “Project Hail Mary”. It’s ridiculous, but entertaining. You have to be impressed by Weir’s skill at thinking up new ways for astronauts to catastrophically die and then saving them via clever engineering. Also inventing new types of life which present interesting conundra. Characters? Ehhhh not really.
The movie trailer looks fairly true to the book.

Conservationists who focus on restoration of wetlands are increasingly "Leaving It To Beaver." Beavers are considered the ultimate Keystone Species because they area they re-engineer offer benefits to many other species, and an entire ecosystem can collapse if a Beaver is removed. A Beaver dam doesn't just hold and conserve water. Beavers increase the population of frogs, fish, insects, birds, and small mammals and extend the range of larger mammals like moose, deer, and bears. The quantity and variety of vegetation are increased. Water is filtered and saturates the land, refilling artesian wells. It's unbelievable that we almost lost this amazing creature because of a hat fashion trend.

A Beaver's tail is flat, leathery, and sparsely haired. Beavers use it as a rudder for steering while swimming and as a prop to balance when standing or sitting on land. They will slap their tail on the water's surface to warn other Beavers of danger. Beavers store fat in their tails, especially before winter, to help them survive periods with limited food.
A Beavertail is also a famous Canadian pastry that was introduced in the winter of 1978 to skaters on the Rideau Canal. It's a great way to eat Beaver without harming any animals.
