Think someone is having a stroke?
Act FAST

Face: Ask the person to smile.
Does one side of the face droop?

Arms: Ask the person to raise both arms. Does one arm drift downward?

Speech: Ask the person to repeat a simple sentence. Are the words slurred? Does he or she fail to repeat the sentence correctly?

Time: If the answer to any of these questions is yes, time is important. Call 911 or get to the hospital fast. Brain cells are dying.

Hours of hiking at high elevation is the best complement/remedy for hours of coding... Last Saturday we were on the mountain for 9 hours (21km hike), and here's a short POV video from near the highest point, near the pass into Rappenalptal, 900m above the valley... Quick tip for those with young kids who want them to learn how to use a watch with an analogue (dial) style interface.
While the likes of Flik Flak make nice kids watches, they are a little on the pricy side.
Potentially better IMHO however are these kids field/pilot style watches from AliExpress. They cost basically nothing [<$5🇺🇸] and the hour hand points to an inner ring of numbered hours, while the minute hand points to an outer ring of numbered minutes. So simple!

She'll be turning 13 in October, so she's kind of on borrowed time for a greyhound. She seems to have lost most of her vision now and is underweight, though her appetite is still huge and she still loves her walks.
She was once a terror for the local cats and squirrels but now if they remain still she doesn't spot them. She still sniffs every place that she remembers them to have been.

I am simultaneously very happy that I was able to pull this off, and ABSOLUTELY ENRAGED that the fault was two -- two! -- individual LEDs that failed, thereby disabling an entire television. The LEDs cost me USD 0.15 apiece. This entire screen (less than three years old, and it looks lovely!) would have otherwise been set out on the curb because of a crappy design. On the plus side, I expanded my soldering skills, and can hand my relatives back a working television when next I see them.
