Been restarting the #OutdoorComputing season much later than hoped for this year... Here are the last few meters of the path to today's marvelous office-away-from-home! 😍
(Back in London, for almost 13 years I worked 70-80% of the year on a similar bench or shelter in the woods of North London... my most productive time!)

BLAKE: [In the background behind Varon's lines] They set me up beautifully.
VARON: There is a possible approach if we could cite your record: your breakdown after your involvement with those illegal political groups, the remorse that you felt, the guilt you carried has placed you under an enormous strain. And we can submit that these assaults, these aberrations were carried out whilst you were mentally... [1/2] B7B4

A clear sunny Winter solstice day, so why not Chicken katsu udon soup with roasted rice tea for lunch at Tokyo Canteen in Kingston?
The soup had citrus-pickled vegetables in it (daikon, carrot, cauliflower and Brussels sprouts) - which was a pleasant surprise (I just expected dashi or miso or something).

We hoofed it up Mill Mountain before the heat ~really~ set in. The humidity did not wait, unfortunately, but we enjoyed it all the same.
We are now decamped in a coffee shop and pondering lunch options. I think we’re off to a bistro and bakery we’ve heard great things about. Their Better Than Sex cake is reputed to be true to its name.

Three different iOS Mastodon apps: Icecubes, Trunks, and the official, reference implementation. In addition to very different experiences and quirks, each show a noticeably different Home time line view. Order, missing toots, hashtag following, filter handling, etc.
A web browser and IceCubes seem to give the best, most consistent view I'd expect, but the scrolling bug in IceCubes makes it practically unusable for many.

Sheltering in a Bunker, Iran’s Supreme Leader Names Potential Successors
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has not only picked replacements in his chain of military command in case they are killed in Israeli strikes,
he has also named three senior clerics to replace him should he, too, be slain.
Ayatollah Khamenei, 86, is aware that either Israel or the United States could try to assassinate him,
an end he would view as martyrdom, the officials said.

There has long been a quiet debate, currently drowned out but still very much happening, about human replacement vs human augmentation. Think of Gary Kasparov remarking years ago that he thought chess played by humans with computer assistance could be a far more interesting game than either human-only or computer-only chess.
Here’s an argument for augmentation over automation, and note how far it diverges from the current hype despite it being written from a very AI-friendly point of view:

Built a NAS recently to act as a gateway/NFS storage for a couple proxmox nodes for a small business.
The proxmox nodes are stateless only ever storing VMs on the NFS share. The idea was 100% data redundancy, not so much uptime redundancy.
I'm already scheming to upgrade the link between the NAS and the proxmox nodes with at least a 10g SPF direct attach solution later. 2.5G is enough for now.
