Most scary skiing so far today (and that might be it for this trip) not helped by our very apologetic, and very hungover instructor not showing up till we were finished for the day. As a result, our first day on the "real" mountain was with a stand-in teacher who didn't know our abilities...

I realized that a lot of my AI discussions are explaining the difference between hiking a mountain and taking a lift.

We seemingly had the valley all to ourselves, for the first few hours the valley floor still mostly frozen with crunchy hoarfrost until the sun was high enough in the sky. The cirque at the end of the valley already completely in deep winter. These transitions (often within just a few minutes) are so magical and unique to mountain regions...

I went to the local hill / mountain today to escape the fog / clouds. Well and also to see whether the fog would create some nice mood to capture along the way that I'm walking rather often.
And indeed it was a very pleasant experience to walk into the fog and breaking through it to see some blue sky.
